Amazon Instant Video App for iPad

Fans of Amazon’s Prime Subscription and Instant Video service will now be pleased to know that you can now watch movies and TV shows on demand from their newly released iPad app.

One of the benefits to having an Amazon Prime subscription, in addition to the free shipping on items purchased, is the ability to watch movies and shows.

For iPad owners, this is a dream come true. Previously, watching shows required a desktop or a Roku device.

Amazon.com VP for video stated “Today we’re excited to extend our ‘buy once, enjoy everywhere’ approach to iPad, giving customers the chance to enjoy more than 120,000 titles from Amazon Instant Video and more than 20,000 titles from Prime Instant Video anytime, anywhere.”

The app which is located in the App Store, allows users to view previously purchased or rented videos and similar to the desktop, the app includes features like the “Your Watchlist” providing a way to build up a list of movies or shows to watch in the future.

One small caveat to the app is that any content must be purchased on a computer or a Safari web browser (for iPad users) in order for Amazon to play nice with Apples terms. Small inconvenience indeed.
