Apple has announced the iOS 5 Tech Talk World Tours 2011, the popular discussion forums where developers across the world get to network with Apple experts and learn from them. The tours are a unique opportunity for developers to ask questions and get educated on the latest technologies and products at Apple. With iOS 5 just out (on October 12), there should be many app developers out there who’ll want to jump on this chance.
The tours kick off next month and will go on till January 2012. The cities selected to be part of the tour destinations are Berlin, London, Rome, Beijing, Seoul, Sao Paolo, New York City, Seattle, and Austin, Texas. That’s a thorough list … and expansive so developers across the globe can head there with short trips. The seats are limited so you should register as soon as possible here. Unlike the $1600 tickets that get you into WWDC, these tours will cost you $0. That’s right, the attendance is free.
Meanwhile, Apple customers seem quite excited about the iOS 5 upgrade with an increasing number of users selecting to upgrade their devices to the latest operating system. According to Chitika.com, impressions from iOS 5 have been increasing steadily from the day of launch to account for more than 20% of all iOS traffic by October 17. That’s a significant adoption rate in just 5 days of availability.
Ryan Cavanagh of Chitika believes that the surge in iOS 5 adoption is largely due to the fact that most Apple customers are “early adopters.” Right now, iOS 4 is the predominant system in the observations but that could change quickly. The launch of iPhone 4S also makes an important contribution to iOS 5 stats.
