ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Gets Netflix, Selling for $349 at Walmart

ASUS has given a nice surprise to its ASUS Eee Pad Transformer customers by rolling out a software upgrade that takes the build to 8.6.5.9 and more importantly … brings Netflix support. ASUS customers had expected Netflix to come to their tabs with Android 3.2 but that didn’t happen. Well, it’s here now and we love ASUS for the love it shows its customers.

First we had the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer coming up for purchase at an unbeatable price. ASUS topped it off with timely updates and fixes, making the tablet and the manufacturer go up notches in our eyes. After Motorola XOOM that’s Google’s privileged device, it was ASUS who got Android 3.2 running on its tablet. And now this.

The software upgrade also includes an update to the dock software. Drop the tab into the dock and the update will get installed.

Last month, Netflix announced a new version of the app that offered support for tablets. The apk file was successfully installed on some ASUS Eee Pad Transformer units, Motorola XOOM tabs, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices.

If you have been envying others their ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, here’s a chance to get one of your own. Walmart is offering the 16GB WiFi ASUS tablet for $349, $50 offer the cost price. It’s an unbeatable deal. Shipping will cost you another dollar so you’ll have the tab for $350 flat. This is by far the best Android tablet out there in terms of price and features. There are slimmer and lighter tabs out there but they don’t offer the input and output options this one does.

Little slow out of the gate there with the price. It WAS on sale for about 5 days but that ended yesterday. I’ve been holding out till Friday but I, like you, am too late.
