Asus to Divulge “Innovative Design” at Milan Design Week – possibly quad-core 3D tablet?

by Monica Samuel on March 11, 2011

Asus seems to have plans of displaying some innovative design that could include a 3D tablet at the Milan Design Week in April. This information comes from a tweet that reads “Design concept or innovative display? Will you be attending Milan Design Week in April?”

The tweet is accompanied by a picture of a hall with an array of tablets placed on lit up pedestals. It looks very 3D and futuristic even if it doesn’t tell us anything about the actual tablet or the innovative design Asus is working on. Except confirming that Asus is in fact working on a slate.

Hmmm … could the picture imply that Asus’s new tablet might have some 3D capabilities? Could this be the tablet we’ve heard of before? There have been talks of a Honeycomb running 3D tablet with a quad core processor ever since CEO Jerry Chen talked about the company’s 2011 plans. The tablet will apparently be developed by the same company that is equipping the LG Optimus Pad with a 3D screen.

Well, we’ll know more about this at the Milan Design Week.
