In this article we are going to solve your problem through an application called as Contact Analyser. Contact Analyser is an application that helps you remove unwanted or duplicate contacts easily. Below we are going to guide you in simple step by step procedure to use this application.

How to remove Duplicate contacts on Android:

Step 1: First of all open Google Play Store from your phone and under utilities search the “Contact Analyser 2” app. This app is absolutely free so you can easily install it in your phone and after installing it run the application.

Step 2: splash screen will be opened which will show the currently available contacts on the device. Just one scroll through the list will show how many duplicate contacts are there on the device and in turn on your Gmail account as well.

Step 3: Then you have to select the options menu of the application by pressing the options key located at the lower left hand side of the device. It will bring up the various options with which will provide you with the option to solve the problem of duplicate contacts. There are automated options available but the manual option is best suited as it lets you choose which name and number to take.

Step 4: Then following splash screen will search your phone book with identical numbers and the contact entries made against that number. Then you just have to Single click on the contact entry will bring up the options menu. You can either select to delete the entries, merge them according to your preference. You have to follow same procedure for every contact and the same will also be uploaded on your Gmail account as well the next time you sync your device.
