HTC Flyer has received a firmware update that brings the tablet to version 2.00.405.3. The update promises “improved system performance” and from what users say, the tab is performing at a slightly improved level, especially in the launcher with live wallpapers enabled. The update brings the Android version to 2.3.3.
Update – HTC Flyer Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update
Your Tablet will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.00.405.3.
We’re waiting for HTC to announce the Honeycomb update it had promised for HTC Flyer once it became available. Well, it has been “available” for some time and we’re hoping HTC is working on getting the OS to the 7inch tab soon.
Meanwhile, OnLive, the gaming service that lets you play games from the cloud is demoing its new Wireless Universal Controller. Engadget tested it out on the HTC Flyer and wasn’t disappointed. The gaming experience was awesome with great graphics, no lag; as good as you would expect. You can now play awesome games such as Assasin’s Creed, Street Fighter, etc., on your tablet, PC, Mac, phone, MicroConsole, or any OnLive-compatible device with the dual analog wireless controller.
For those interested in UK, you’ll be happy to know that OnLive is launching there this fall, and you can sign up free to get first access to OnLive Game Service in the UK and reserve your Player Tag.
