It’s Official; T-Mobile G-Slate (Optimus Pad) Releasing Tomorrow

by Valli on April 19, 2011

A leaked screenshot of an internal T-Mobile doc clearly confirms the official launch of the T-Mobile G-Slate on April 20. T-Mobile is preparing stores for the device and providing a support line for issue-related and critical questions.

The leaked screenshot also confirms the launch of two other iconic devices on the same day – the G2x and the Sidekick 4G. This isn’t really a surprise as T-Mobile’s invitation for its April 20 event did throw some broad hints about the availability of the LG devices.

Mark the date on your calendar. The three T-Mobile devices from LG are quite impressive and it will be interesting to see how the sale of the G-Slate goes. It is the second Honeycomb tab to hit markets after the Motorola Xoom. Though the Xoom tablet didn’t take off as well as expected, the G-Slate has more than Honeycomb to recommend it – a 3D capable 8.9 inch screen and 3D video recording capabilities with rear stereoscopic cameras and LED flash. Plus the rest – Tegra 2 dual core processor, 32GB internal storage, HDMI out, front camera for video chats, DLNA support, HSDPA 10.1 Mbps, GSM, UMTS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The G-Slate will cost $529 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2 year contract. Not so bad for the T-Mobile fans. If you’ve been saving up for this tab, tomorrow is the day.

It will also be pre-loaded with Zinio eReader, who seem to have a great collection of magazines. Let us know what you think of your G-Slate when you get it.
