Kindle 3 Goes on Sale at RadioShack

by Monica Samuel on June 14, 2011

RadioShack is the latest to join the list of retailers selling Amazon’s Kindle 3 eReader – bestselling product in the company’s history. Kindle 3 will be selling at RadioShack stores for $114 (Kindle with Special Offers), $139 (Kindle 3 Wi-Fi only), and $189 (Kindle Free 3G + Wi-Fi).

Kindle is also available on Amazon (of course), and retail stores such as Walmart, Target, Staples, Costco and Best Buy.

Kindle 3 is Amazon’s current bestseller in electronics with Kindle with Special Offers taking first place, followed by Kindle 3 Wi-Fi, and then Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi with Special Offers at $164, followed by Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi. The ad sponsored version includes sponsored screensavers and ads on the home screen. That accounts for the discounted price though the ads don’t affect your reading experience at all. Even the special offers are relevant to the needs and wants of Kindle readers.

With Kindle, you can access over 900,000 books, including 107 of 111 New York Times Best Sellers, plus audio books, periodicals and blogs; and over 1.8 million free, out-of-copyright, pre-1923 books are available such as Pride and Prejudice. Over 610,000 books are priced at $9.99 or less. You can also take advantage of Kindle book lending, local library lending, real page numbers on books (same as physical copies), read to me feature, and Whispersync technology that lets you read anytime, anywhere, on a device of your choice.

Kindle is the top digital reader in the market for a reason. And now you have another option to purchase it from. No news on whether RadioShack will make the reader available online too.
