Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad and Android TabletsYesterday Microsoft announced on their hardware blog that are getting in the bluetooth accessory game by releasing a new keyboard intended to work with any device that supports this wireless technology but ideally suited for laptops and tablets.

The new Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 “offers a more comfortable keyboard experience” while also allowing for portability with a lightweight design.
Microsoft makes a note on the product page that the 5000 was formerly known as the Bluetooth Keyboard 6000. It is unclear as to whether this is simply a rebranding of an existing product or a brand new product. It is interesting that you can find the 6000 on Amazon for a little less than the new product price tag.
Just yesterday, we wrote about how choosing between a netbook and tablet can be a tough choice but with each passing day, the choice becomes much clearer. And now that Dell is getting out of the netbook business, it seems that the netbooks are starting to fall by the wayside.
At $49.95 and available in the US, the bluetooth keyboard will allow you work on the go without all the hassle. If you are thinking of ditching the laptop or netbook and moving to a tablet only situation, then this device may be worth a look.
