There is a lot of breaking news right now in the mobile technology space. Apple is rumored to be releasing a new iPhone and/or iPad mini. Amazon is rumored to be releasing new Kindle products including a new Kindle Fire.
Now, Kobo has jumped in the fray by launching 3 new mobile devices. Set to be released in October, Kobo has a new line of products that they are showing off to the world.
The Kobo Arc tablet, is their first attempt at a tablet, is a 7-inch 1280 x 800 dual-core 1.5 GHz processor device, packed with 1 GB of RAM, a 2 mega-pixel front facing camera and an impressive 10 hours of battery life and internal storage of either 8GB or 16GB.
The Arc also comes loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with access to Google Play for all your app needs and available in white or black. Priced at $199 for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB puts it squarely in the crosshairs of the Google Nexus 7.
Along with the new tablet, Kobo also unveiled two new e-readers.
First, the Kobo Mini, is a tiny new e-reader that promises to fit in your pocket. Packet with 2GB of internal storage, this E ink reader measures 5-inches and is priced at $79.
Second, the Kobo Glo, is a response to the GlowLight from Nook and has a 6-inch E ink screen with an HD resolution of 1024 x 768. Also, packed with WiFI and touchscreen capabilities, this device is priced at $129.
