Radio Shack, the popular electronic store, will now stock the popular eReaders from Barnes & Noble – the new NOOK Touch and the best selling NOOK Color – along with Kindle and other eReaders. Both NOOK devices will be displayed along with accessories to bring you more choices this holiday season.
Just a month away from the launch of Amazon Kindle, B&N has done the right thing by bringing NOOK’s lineup of devices to the 3,000 Radio Shack locations and select franchises across the country. NOOK Color will be available for $249 and NOOK Touch for $139, the same as at B&N’s stores.
Both NOOK Color and NOOK Touch are top selling devices at B&N, propelling their eBook sales. Both tabs are based on Android and provide access to NOOK store that includes a number of apps that most readers are interested in. Since the store has launched, B&N is seeing interest from more developers and increasing number of downloads every day.
NOOK Color offers a great reading experience on its full color 7-inch VividView Color Touchscreen. It’s great for reading magazines, newspapers, magazines, interactive children’s books, and playing games. The app is Flash enabled so you also get a great browsing experience on the web. There’s also integrated email, making the reader a passable tablet. The tab has been hacked to the core and developers have found innovative ways of using this reader’s tablet capabilities – dashboard music player, GPS navigator, message board … the list goes on.
NOOK Touch is not color but it includes Android and a touchscreen for a great reading experience on a 6inch screen that uses E Ink Pearl technology. The reader is the perfect portable device and offers battery backup of many days. And it’s great for playing games, browsing, and shopping too.
Radio Shack is one of the privileged retailers to stock a NOOK device as well as Kindle. Great news for customers.
