OnLive took the proverbial next step after debuting on iPad last week. The desktop productivity app is now available for the Android tablet spectrum as well.
While OnLive on the iPad demonstrated how a tablet can now scale to productivity and go beyond a content and entertainment consumption device, its arrival for Android tablets is a clear indication of how tablets are going to be the smart devices of tomorrow as well.
The minimum version of Android required for OnLive App would be Android 2.3 and if reports were proved right, it has apparently been tested on a whole spectrum of Androids-HTC Jetstream, ASUS EeeTF 101, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 as well as Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Xoom as well.
OnLive Desktop features will now allow Android tablet users to access their PCs virtually, work on Microsoft’s boutique Office programs- Word, Excel as well as go web surfing.
OnLive’s excellent cloud services too can be accessed and used for storage; meaning this app is a value –addition over other similar productivity tools. OnLive is an App worth downloading for your Android as you get to use their streaming capabilities not just for the desktop apps but to access the Internet Explorer as well. At speeds of 1 gigabit per second it will even bundle your Adobe Flash Applications for you.
Alternatively, a premium service is available as well and for $4.99 per month, you may soon be using it to access your Windows PC virtually.
