The Sony Xperia Tablet Z seems to have been announced eons back, but it still hasn’t really hit store shelves anywhere (apart from in Sony’s very own Japan).
The Android tablet has been looked forward to by the legions of Sony fans who have been undeterred by its rather public failings in bringing out its device or software launches on any kind of schedule whatsoever.
According to the Sony UK preorder page, the Tablet Z will be available for release by the end of May (this year, lest you have any doubts).
The delays in bringing out the Tablet Z are quite similar to the issues that plagued Sony with the launches of its previous Xperia tablets and even the Xperia S smartphone.
Moreover, despite the considerable delays in bringing their tablets to the masses, Sony has eventually cocked up these devices in some way or another, be it the hardware defects in the Xperia Tablet S (that delayed its launch by months) or the abysmal record Sony has with updating its Android firmware in flagships like the Xperia S smartphone.
With a 10.1 inch 1920×1200 LED backlit LCD display, quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon Krait processor, 8 MP camera, and 2 GB of RAM, the Xperia Tablet Z isn’t just yet another pretender in the race to the top of the tablet market pyramid. Unfortunately, Sony seems rather determined to make it just that!
