The gap between the number of quality apps available in iOS and Android continues to reduce by the day as two of the most notable and beautiful iOS apps in recent times have been brought to Android at last.
The apps in question are betaworks’ Dots: A Game About Connecting, and Yahoo! Weather, which as the name suggests is from Yahoo! Inc.
Dots has been called one of the most insanely addictive iOS games of all time, and with good reason.
It’s a modern twist on the classic game Bejeweled, with some elements of the Flow game thrown in for good measure, as you have to connect a series of multicolored dots in either a fixed amount of time, or a set number of moves.
Yahoo! Weather has made a name for itself in iOS devices after it underwent a scarcely believable makeover, going from a dull, functional weather app to being arguably the most beautiful and yet powerful weather apps in the App Store.
The design principles used in iOS have been brought over to Android as well (with some Holo touches, of course), with every possible detail about the current and future weather available at your fingertips.
What really sets it apart though is that the Weather app pulls in location-specific photos from Yahoo!’s own Flickr photo service to represent the current weather in your location. It just has to be seen to be believed, and marveled at.
Head to the Google Play links below to get either (or both) of these apps right away!
